Membership in SHRM Detroit is granted in one of the following classifications. Please apply for membership at the appropriate level by clicking on the type of membership below. Check out the benefits of SHRM Detroit Membership by clicking here.

Professional Member

A professional member is someone who works in the Human Resources field in their daily professional work for a company. Is self-employed as a consultant in the HR field or is adjacent to the HR field, e.g. – employment attorney, benefits broker, teacher of HR curriculum. Additionally, someone who is retired from the HR profession.
For those adjacent to HR, you’re encouraged to visit our Resource Partner page for more opportunities to enhance your exposure! There is outstanding value in supporting our educational programming and networking events as a Resource Partner.   

  • New Member Dues: $125 

  • Renewal Dues: $100

Join as a Professional Member

Student or Recent Graduate Member

Students and Recent Graduates are an integral part of the SHRM Detroit organization. Students are eligible for this membership level for as long as they are enrolled students. Recent graduates are eligible for this membership level for one year following the date of Associates, Bachelor, or Graduate degree completion. 

  • *Student SHRM Members -

    • New Member Dues: Complimentary with SHRM membership and proof of enrollment

    • Renewal Dues: Complimentary with SHRM membership and proof of enrollment.

  • *Non-SHRM Student Members - 

    • New Student Member Dues: $25 with proof of enrollment | Renewal Rate: $25 with proof of enrollment

*After creating an online profile, students must provide proof of current enrollment for their membership to be activated. Please submit one of the following: proof of enrollment, tuition receipt, class schedule, or document showing enrollment in the current term. Submit proof of enrollment to SHRM  Detroit at  [email protected].

For individuals who want to attend events and search the website as a guest. You will not receive member benefits.

Join Our Mailing List

Individual Chapter membership is not transferable from one individual to another. Membership in other SHRM affiliated chapters is not transferable to SHRM Detroit. Chapter membership is contingent on the timely payment of annual dues. Membership expires 12 months from the date of activation and is renewable yearly on/or before the member's anniversary date. Dual membership in SHRM-National is encouraged.
